other than that i probaly spelled scheme wrong im looking for a color set for my marines
im probaly going to do gold trim like the ultramarines but i dont know what to use for the armour anyone got ideas?
thanks for any comments.
If done right, any dark colour with gold trim will look beautiful.
My 6th company are codex grey with gold trim, and i had to darken the grey a little bit to make the gold look striking.
Avoid orange, yellow, bright green, bright blue and bright red. and darker shades of green blue and red would work well though.
Let us know what you chose and dont forget to post pics of your painted mini's!
My marines looked really good with a simple Enchanted Blue for the armour, boltgun metal for the metal parts. Shadow blue the extra stuff like the skulls. Badab black over everything. Highlught the shadow grey with fortress grey then line the eyes in blue. Looks real good and takes a very short time
Could always go down the Bleached Bone path (like Howling Banshees), udercoat black, then move upwards through the brown shades to bleached bone, white highlights and use gold for the trims.
I've only done a few marines like this as a tester but they turned out ok...
My Marines (based loosely off the Exorcists chapter) uses Shining Gold trim on its shoulder pads, and on some of the armor and equipment. The power armor is a mix of black and a dark red (Malachite Red base, Red Gore, then Red Ink on top). Turns out pretty good.
As others have stated, dark colors make the gold pop more.
