Thinking about using them against a Smurf army with 2 squads of termies and 1 assault squad and bikes.....hoping they'll keep the smurfs from assaulting my armour, along with RR
So does anyone use them, and if so how,and what has been your secesses and failures?
Last Chancers I assume.
I use them all the time as "death world veterans" to fill in the gaps with veterans. With them being able to take heavy weapons like crazy, you can actually have them into 3 sub units of 6 men each and make them the dedicated fire support squads. Nothing like "fearless" units hitting on 3s with a lascannon, auto cannons, and heavy bolters. Then Schaeffer in a sub unit by himself and Kage in the last sub unit. Schaeffer attaches to a veteran squad and Kage attaches to another veteran squad.
Nice thing about last chancers is that they get to infiltrate so they can set up last to take advantage of getting better LOS to take out the heavies on your opponent. Kage being attached to a veteran squad can outflank which means that you can outflank a "fearless" unit deep into you opponents deployment zone.
I find them great as support squads and causing havoc squads.
Where the heck did all them guardsmen come from?
Great Wolf! Is that the howl of the 13th?
