Having been inspirered by deadstar_MRC's post on founding an order, i too will now give my so far nameless SoB's some fluff and a name: The Order Of The Lilac Lily
I haven't got a whole lot of fluff yet. I want them to be really "roman catholic": more on the embelishments, gold and artwork side of the Sororitas and less on the repent and vow of poverty spectrum
I would suggest that you strive to denote hierarchy in your army.
For example, silver and unpolished copper on your "lowest" models.
As the rank ascends, add more decorations, more gold, more detail,
and more vivid colors.
Purple is often associated with Royalty, but you don't necessarily have to do that.
So long as the Elites/Uppers get progressively more ornate and vivid as the
ranks ascend, then I think you will have accomplished the effect.
I also had an idea for the terrain on the base for characters.
Sometimes I use completely plain base terrain for characters/leaders,
while I reserve the "busy" base terrain for the underlings.
It's a subtle contrast that I kinda like.
Good luck in any case.
