if youre daemon hunters and can field leigons of super-humans, why take some infantry with a 5+ sv whose gun isnt worth its weight in crap? The tanks are okay, but if you can have a land raider, its not a very hard choice, is it???
because your opponent will underestimate the guardsmen. if used properly, IG can be one of the best armies in the game

Do you understand what 'points' mean? Or maybe, 'worth it's points'? Or what about 'tactics'?
I think that answers your question.
ok, sorry about that. i DID underestimate them. i just checked the codex, and they are better than i thought.
1 guardsmen not a problem, 10 guardsmen not a problem, a few 100 that is a problem
1000 guardsmen now I have a big problem
see what we mean
Okay. forget the original subject. I want to start a Daemonhunters army. i was playing as IG, but i find daemonhunters to be much more effective. Can anyone give me a good 1000 pt army?
1000pts of DH, or 1000pts of DH/IG?
Instead of starting a new thread, ill bring this up here. Now that the new rules are coming and with the updates, our meatshields will be gone. Our grey knights will be able to be targeted even with legions of guardsmen in front of them. So how much use can we get out of them now?
You know what they say, if you dont like the weather in houston...go back to where you came from
IST, with their upgrade and mounting option they can help fill one of our primary weaknesses meaning they can hunt tanks. Besides if you take them to fulfill your troop selections then everything else in your army (except =][=/assassin) can deep strike. Its a nice feeling to know that even though your enemy might be raining death down on them your getting ready to pounce behind his lines. Besides, they aren't bad troops for their point value and it can be fun to upgrade teh vet sergeant to power armor and power weapon for some close combat support.
