Hi guys, pleae give your opinion on the topic. I want to make a mean grinding machine, it would be perfect to grind down heavy melee units (like banshees ), and it is not too expensive in points also.
It really depends on the makeup of the rest of your army list. Are you playing pure Grey Knights? Are you allying Imperial Guard? How many Storm Troopers are you taking? Will the Sisters of Battle be making an appearance?
Typically, the GK Dreadnought is most beneficial to a DH army when it is equipped as an anti-tank vehicle - twin-linked Lascannon plus a Missile Launcher. This is due to the fact that Grey Knights tend to have a severe lack of anti-tank and need all the help they can get in that regard. However, if you plan on using a lot of Melta-equipped Storm Troopers or allying some Lascannon/Missile Launcher toting Imperial Guard, I'm sure a CC Dread (Assault Cannon/DCCW) would be great to use.
In general a CC dred is not very useful because one weapon destroyed nerfs its CC ability.
I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand
Success is the ability to go from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm.
I started only taking the Hellfire Dread, but even with the downgrades to Assault cannons, I now take 2 to 1 the standard AC/CCW Dread. I either take three of them, or one with a Landraider to give the enemy a more "juicy" target to shoot at.
If you play a walking Grey Knight list, the three AC/CCW dreads are truly a fine piecce of support to walk up with our Knights!

All is good but any damage result seriously harms your dreadnought wether it be crew shaken or immobilised, Ok you have extra armour, but for some reason my dreadnoughts end up as sitting ducks, cover or no cover.
I would use a Dreadnought defensively, Plasma Cannon or TLLC will do, keep the cc arm if you dont have any cc on your back lines for DS
I might write like a ork but i fight like a poet.
Some one tell me they have ever seen a nightbringer die from a Nemesis Force Weapon.
Thanks for your opinios, I think I will stay with the AC/CCW edition. I dislike the TLLC/ML combination, mostly the TLLC because the 1 shot/turn. I was only thinking about, cause my friend has a cool Khorne army with an awsome CCdread, so I thought I'd make one also. But sadly the MEQ dreds are not the best for CC
Now all i have to do is to make a AC ork style!
