sternguard because they can hold the line like no other, and they can carry 2x heavy flamers (as far as i know) and combi-flamers, making them an ork/tyranids player worst nightmare. alternatively they can be equiped to scare the living daylights from chaos terminators with combi-plasmas.
lastly they are perfect tank hunters with combi-meltas.
attach any of these squads to tigurius with his gate of infinty rule and they are the perfect rapid response team.

secondly, redeemer because of their ability to mass-kill my mates orks.

You chose the exact same two as me! I love sternguard because they're crimson fists and good, and redeemer because it's so powerful.

Sternguard, Ironclad and Redeemer. I've always been a treadhead at heart, so the latter two pretty much had to make the list. And Sternguard are really the perfect blend of coolness and utility.

Vanguard would have been on the list as well, because I absolutely love them... But they're just so heavily handicapped by 5th edition assault rules...
We've got plenty of youth... How about a fountain of smart?

Same I love the models, but I keep watching them get smashed apart by hordes of greenies!

master of the forge, thunderfire and sterguard for sure. Thunderfire seems fun, sternguard take on anything and hold the line, and the master of the forge is pretty cool i think. Bolster deffences is fun for my sniper scouts

Sternguard win so hard. They can do anything when equipped properly and with Pedro they can even score! Plus, they are the most appealing fluffwise, I just love the idea of marines overcoming all obstacles with the humble bolter.

Master of the Forge, Thunderfire, and Ironclad come in second, because there is nothing as Orky as an Ironclad Dread and the Big Beaky Mek with a huge gun.

For me it's the ironclad (2 heavy flamers) and redeemer (high strength low AP flame weapons).
Darn I wish I could vote twice.

Sternguard. Besides the usefulness of the ammo and Kantor, they allow me to make a nice Deathwatch army.
Redeemers are nice too with their low AP.

sternguard because they're better and cheaper deathwatch (which were the first space marines I got to include in my guard army)

Plus I love close range fire support armies.
