there is a lot of defensive wargear in our armory.........but how much is worth it?
Bionics- currently im giving them a chance, they seem to be a better buy for the price than a refractor field
Refractor Field- seems very expensive for its use
Carapace(i know there is already a thread on this)-seems like a reasonable buy to me since 5th edition's allocation of wounds.
Medallion crimson- definitely does not seem worth the price, unless your character costs more than a russ, you should ignore it, and if he does, then you've made a mistake...
Rosarius- if only we could give this to our officer... it would actually be worth the high price in my opinion(dont even bother giving him armor lol) but...alas we cannot give this to our officer...
Hellhounds are good tanks
Satan - "**** you Kage! And **** you Jables! I'll get you Tenacious DDDDdddddddeeeeee!!!!!!"
Carapace is worth it if you need your officer. I would still give your officer the bolt pistol and power weapon combo just to play it safe. Medallion Crimson does seem expensive for its abilities. Macharian Cross seems pointless for what its worth, refractor field is nice to have if your expecting to get hit a lot by things with an AP greater than 4. Trademark item seems useless to me when it comes to being given to an officer.
Trademark Items come in way handy.
Only when you use it in conjunction with the M.Vox....It seems the first MT goes on the HQ's ld.
But the second one using the T.I. goes by the ld of the unit....
I like it just because we aren't fearless by nature.
only thing in my book (as my book is all about expendibility and troop numbers): bolters
since officers come with only laspistols and ccw. for that point, you double his range and give him a better gun than the average trooper and it's much better than the alternative stats of a shotgun (though shotguns are good fluff)... that said, if i could just get a lasgun for free, i'd just say lasgun.
then again, i adhere to the assaulted-guard = dead-guard standard.
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.
Voor alle nederlanders:
The Dutch Legion
None of it's really worth it. IG officers aren't like SM captains, they don't lead from the front. They sit back and provide bonus Ld.
The only things worth taking on any officers are the honourifica for your general JO, and the iron discipline doctrine.
