So everyone knows the new space marine book is out and everyone seems to also know everything is cheaper. I was wondering if you think our Rhino's will go down to 35 points as well. I hope so, right now I am stuck between Nids and Witch hunters. I love the models of the witch hunters and the Nids. But anyways what do you all think?
Odds are good that they will. However, because that is still away's off, we still have to pay the extra points.
Its not that bad, considering. You can still fit a sizable amount of girls into an army even with all rhinos.
It also disallows the use of Exorcists, which is a very heavy price to pay for that cost cut.
I was just offering a suggestion on rhino cost reduction for this guy. Not sure what exorcists have to do with this, since that wasn't the concern of his original post.
But to answer your concern, yes no exorcists. how about...instead take the salamader HQ. He allows (esentially) twin linked melta and flamers for the entire army. Sisters have those in abundance. That should counter the loss of a few exorcists.
Just an option.
Anyway, everyone will just have to deal until their army codex is redone. It seems harsh now, but everyone's codex will be redone for 5th. Hopefully.
Thank you all for the help on a Rhino. Right now I am want to get back into 40. I had played a fast close combat eldar (Aspect warrior army) about 4-5 years ago. I love space marines but there are just to many of them. I am looking for a close army and I have to admit I like the sisters of battle minitures. I would do a snow-world theme with them using white armor and light blue cloaks. But I am having problems choosing. I like Space marines for their predators, 85 points for 1 with heavy bolter sponsons and an autocannon. I like the sister of battle exercist and I would run 2 of them at 1k points even though they are 50 bucks each. I also love the death cult assassin model. Could someone give me a little rundown of why to choose Witchhuners/why not.
So every army has dedicated non-dedicated transports? I see the new marines rhino etc are listed as dedicated transports. So.....guess they can't share a ride with anyone outside of their squad. Then again what armies can then?
So sisters either don't look at the cost of stuff in other books. Turn a blind eye and think all rhinos are 50 points still. That or just hoof it and same that cost for more models somewhere else.
Witch Hunters FAQ, 2nd paragraph) =)
Bad for other armies, though. Especially when GW taunts you with a lame joke about transport regulations.^^
Back on topic: I think that a cost reduction will come, but only as early as a new codex. So, meh.
The option of just taking a SM army might be a work-around, but then again you loose...well, playing a Witch Hunters army! Why not just play Marines then?
Space Marine Rhino are 35pts, but Extra Armour is three times the price it used to be, so effectively the Rhino is only 8 points (free smoke launchers now) less because EA is manditory IMO.
