Ok, I want a 1.5K competitive army with allied GK with IG was the parent force but I have no idea on how to approach making this list, as I am pretty new to IG.
I've got the codices and everything, just want to see if any pro players out there can lend a hand.
So, let me begin with the GK units which I want in the army (and have the models for)
Shooty Inquisitor Lord (unsure about retinue, will include sages for anti DS)
8 Grey Knights (or is that enough?)
So, can someone fill out the rest of my list?
Would appreciate your help very much.
I dont personally have much experiance with allied armies, however maybe you can gain some insight through this thread?
Or maybe not. Perhaps this is a shameless plug of an old thread of mine? Perhaps, perhaps...
"Pickles, the drummer, doodily doo. (Ding-dong, doodily, doodily, doo.)"
Also, you should google "garfield minus garfield". Awesome.
take power armor grey knights in squads of 10, otherwise they die too fast
shooty inquisitor should have 3 gun servitors, 1 plasma cannon, and 2 heavy bolters and sages for increased BS maybe a mystic if you want to fire on deepstrikers
first you make a imperial guard list for 1000, then you add your daemonhunters, and then finally you fill up the remaining points
Hellhounds are good tanks
Satan - "**** you Kage! And **** you Jables! I'll get you Tenacious DDDDdddddddeeeeee!!!!!!"
All good advice, my two pence would be:
1) You may as well add a pair of mystics (alongside the standard warrior shooty henchmen and 2x scribes), this allows you to soak up more wounds with 6pnt familiars / whatever. - The mystics let you shoot at deep strikers / deamons, scribes to re-roll one shot (plasma cannon), and +1 to your BS. I'd give the inquisitor himself a psycannon, and probably artificer armour (and a power sword just in case. It'd be a shame not to take a psychic hood too, but this is all totting up.
This is more nessecary in 5th due to the mixed armour changing - beforehand you couldn't put 6 6+ save men in your squad, it'd be daft (although i experimented with 3x artificer armoured acolytes for a laugh - mixed results, but too expensive)
As for grey knights - I like 8. the best combatent there is the justicar, and adding more men decreases the cost/melee effectiveness, but on the other hand they're no good if wiped out. I'd go for incinerators over a psycannon if you have the choice.
then make a guard list with the remaining points. - (What you got? What's the plan?)

I dont have a fully set out plan yet.
I'm thinking of maybe a mechanised IG list - grenadiers with plenty of flamers, yeah?
Brings to mind good images of the Emperor's chosen cleaning the heretic with flame and bolter.
