    Special Character Rules question

When special characters like Pedro and Shrike die, do their special bonuses still count?

Yes. The abilities they grant their Marines replace Combat Tactics, there is nothing that states that they will lose them in exchange for Combat Tactics again if the character dies.

Yeah, it's not something temporary like not having a flamer after the flamer guy dies... The special characters train and/or equip their troops to do those things themselves - so losing Pedro doesn't make Sternguard suddenly forget how to hold objectives!

Ahahaha can you imagine that -_- I mean you take Lysander, and all your bolt weapons are more accurate, and then he dies and suddenly your marines forget how to shoot properly ._.

The units have access to the rules in the first place because you bought the characters. Once they have access, their innate rule (combat tactics) is replaced by the new rule. After that, it's part of the unit itself.

If the rules were reliant upon the survival of the IC that granted them, it would say something to that effect in their entries.

However, I'm sure that if you want to limit yourself by making the ability reliant on the survival of the character, your opponents won't mind one bit.
