So if you have a ruins (4+ cover) in your deployment zone you can use a techmarine to bolster defenses on it to 3+. Then stick scouts with camo cloaks in there, and they get 2+ cover save?
Seems like a nice tactic. People shoot at my snipers all the time. Makes me almost want to go get a Telion.
Anyone tried this?
Yep, scouts can get a 2+ cover this way.
As long as things stay shooty againt the scouts, it works out fine. If things get into CC, they're kinda gone though ><
Up to you
Don't forget that even without bolstered defences the scouts can go to ground to get a 2+ cover save (in appropriate terrain) it could be very handy for grabbing and holding an objective late on in the game - assaulty badness nonwithstanding!
But yes, camo cloaks are definitely a must have for all my scout squads now.
The only problem with this is bolster defences only works on ruins (and is therefore much more situational than on the original read through)
Well you can't really bolster a field so I think it's fair enough really - just make sure you get some ruins you can use when you play :-)
