DO NOT POST STATS
Are theyre any good new things about the chaplain?
Im havent gone indepth in the dex to see whats going on with how worse they are now.
They used to be perfect HQ choices.
And can you guys compare him to the Captian for me, thanks.

Please don't post stats O_< And the Chaplain still retains his old WS even though his BS and a few other stats have been toned down a little.
I guess it encourages people to take a Captain instead? I definitely went back to using Captains instead of my old terminator chappie. It's still not that bad, even though I'm pissed they took out the higher wound versions of the Librarian and Chaplain, they still make for good supporting HQ choices for me, and the Chaplain's special rules still kick ass.
Iron Swords 3rd Company - We are the swords which reap the bodies of our foes.
Train of thought will be terminating at.. edible murder weapons!
The Chaplain is still a powerful choice to take, even with reduced WS. As was said before, the Chaplain is now considered a 'support' HQ option, like the new master of the forge =)
Attached to a squad of close-combat orientated marines (termies with twin LC's, assault squad with fist, vanguard vets with power weapons), his ability still rocks. The only down side is the enemy can now focus their attacks directly on the Chaplain when in close combat (and ignore the squad he's attached to), so when facing units with a similar or higher initiative, you might loose your Chaplain before you get a chance to use the Liturgies rule on the attached squad
erm, did that make any sense? slap me if not.

If only he could take the jump pack...

Chaplain has lost a lil bit of his brutality but hes still usefull. Personally if im gonna take a chaplain im gonna take cassius for just a lil more points more than a regular chaplain and those points gives him Feel No Pain, A combi-flamer with hellfire rounds, and an insanely high toughness making him immune to instant death except from force weapons and he has all the abilities the normal chappies have. Also note that hes equipped with frag and krak grenades as well as a bolt pistol so he counts as having two weapons in close combat. Not all that bad for a few extra points by my reckoning

The normal chaplian is made for jump pack troops now, he gets his for less than the capin, and has a free power weapon, thus you can have a cheap chaplin w. jump pack and power weapon winging it up the board for the price of a basic captian w/ power weapon. You could look at that as a free jump pack, definatly nice and tidy choice. In saying that I take a captain w/ power sword BP or a captain in terminator armour w/ power sword strom bolter, that extra wound and attack just sells it for me.
Move forward and stay quiet brothers.
Check out my half finished blog here.
My Chaplain has one role now, and thats working with Assualt Squads. The drop in a few of his stats has made it hard for him to be used as a solo-hammer anymore, so he's gotta be used to enhance other units. Namely a squad charging in with 30 some odd attacks that you get to reroll.
I've also toyed with attaching him to my Master and Honor Guard squad. It seems to me that it would be a pretty nasty combo to have a Master, 4 Honor Guad (with 4 relic blades all together), Chapter Banner, and that Chaplain come charging out of a land raider. Expensive yes, but given how much more survivable Land Raiders are now, it's worth it in my opinion.
