    New comer building Vostroyan army

Hey I am new player who is buliding a Vostroyan force. I have already bought one Firstborn sqaud and one Command Sqaud.I haven't bulit my army list yet, but I thinking of using more Firstborn squds, baslieks, lemun russ, rough riders, tech-priests and ratlings. Not sure how much of each I will use. Any advice everyone has to offer about army make up suggestion is welecome.

Also I would like advice on how to file down metal, beause none of my Vostroyan fit into their plastic bases

Filing away the iron is done with either an ironsaw or sand paper.

If you can find them, there are also modeling files that work great.

If you don't have either of those a hobby knife could be used to expand the bases.

Always use a knife as sharp as possible! Blunt knives are much more dangerous than sharp ones: with blunt knives you'll put to much pressure on the knife.

I love the first born fluff. That picture of a blade going through that fire warrior, makes every IG player proud. Anyways, from their fluff, they're supposed to be like urban fighters?

So are you going to stick to the fluff or just using the minis because you like the look?

The playing style can be very different for each one.

I mostly went with them because of their look. I don't know too much about their fluff.

Their doctrines make them very expensive. Minis are expensive too. So if you are tight on the cash, you could use them as storm troopers.

yeah I already noticed they cost twice as much as Cadians or Catachans (I was considering going with Cadians and trying to paint them like the Independents from Firefly.) I am in no rush to bulid my army beyond a command sqaud and troops until IG gets a new codex in April of next year because I have heard all kind of crazy rumors like leman russ' counting as a troop choice and ratlings being dropped. So since I am not in a rush I can save up until I have enough money for troops.

i would say you don't need Tech Priests unless you building a Armored company, but that would defeat the purpose of Vostroyan's.
