<:> Lasguns suck!!! Im here to support this by saying they need to go!! They only have a strength of three and no AP!!! They should be replaced by Hellguns. They still have that strength of 3, but at least they have an AP of 5. Am I allowed to exchange all my guys lasguns for Hellguns, but for more points for each Gaurdsman? :huh:
dude, you pay 6 points for a gardsman. dont complain!
if you dont like lasguns, take the storm trooper doc.
"Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what's for dinner"
-Guns don't kill people, bullets do.-
-Support your local game store! Don't buy online or from GW stores.-
This has been discussed before.
One lasgun Sucks
100 lasguns dont.
A Promise to a dead man means nothing.
Hey! Can anyone recall how old of a topic this is and how many times we've answered this...? Be open minded dude and anyhow if you don't like it as said above get stormies or just stop playing guard...:-P I kinda liked it when there wern't so many people playing guard... Though sometimes it is refreshing to be able to help out some noobies.
Valhallan 23rd Imperial Navy: ~2500 pts
Blood Lord SM Fleet: ~1000 pts
Valhallan 23rd Imperialist Guard: ~6,000 pts
BT SM: ~2000 pts
DA SM: ~1000 pts
BA SM: ~1500 pts
What I like about lasguns is that at 12", your army can take 600 S3 shots... and Hellguns are Splinter Rifles in disguise.
That's tough... but that's exactly why I invented the USSR!
World Eaters - 2000pts
Dark Eldar - 2000pts
Imp. Guard - 2000pts, 270 men
You can't match that kind of firepower, even if is S3 with AP-, though I have seen few people do it
no they dont you have read the fluff to understand how great it is
the standard issue imperail las gun is used for its reliabillity a fuel cell will slowy recharge if left alone can be recharged by any energy pack even if you toss it into a fire it will recharge hek the lascannon is an super charged las gun to most respects.
a bolt gun is a tempermental high impact weapon wich is expensive to produce and maintain it fires hard rocket propeled explosive shells at high speeds note it can use ammo very quickly and can explode alot if badly maintained.
a hell gun is a las gun with a more powerful energy cell allowing a stronger beam to be released but this again makes its ammo useage more rapid hence only given to the elite core that is the storm troopers.
think of it this way
guardsmen shoots at space marine "zot"
space marine gets anoyed and blasts the imp a new forehead "BANG"
gaurdsmen platoon shoots at space marine "eep" "ZZZOOOOTTTTT"
see one lasgun cant do squat but 55 of them thats a lot of squat.
spambot kill tally: 79
[16:19] <@Alzer> Arky's right though
[16:20] <@Kaiser-> I know he is.
[16:20] <@Kaiser-> He usually is.
[16:20] <@Kaiser-> Sometimes it's intentional.
[00:01] <+zubus> i love you, ya skirt wearin nothern monkey! ^_^
If you read Gaunt's Ghosts you'll get more respect for lasguns. A guard issue sniper rifle is in fact a customized lasgun. On every lasgun it's possible to chose how high power you set the beam too, but the higher power you set, the faster the powercell get's empty. When Larkin snipes, he simply sets his lasgun to full power, using an entire powercell for one deadly shot.
Ave Dominus Nox!
Maybe they shiould put that in the codex
They have it in the BBB. I don't mind the lasgun all that much but it would be nice to have a doctrine for bolters. Ill pay the extra points for that.
