Had a tournament recently with titans. I had a master of the forge w/ conversion beamer along and he did surprising well as a response to titans.
Titans are big, so you can see them from almost anywhere. I played 2 games vrs 2 different titans, and it was simple to get him over 42 inches away from them while having line of sight.
It is a blast template, but with the BS of the character and the sheer size of the titan, it is almost impossible to miss.
The weapons high str at maximum range gives you a 50% chance of glancing against the worst possible armor. The eldar titan was even easier.
As an added bonus, you get +1 on the glancing/penetrating table due to the AP.
When your opponent is fielding a titan (700-900 points), having a weapon that almost always hits, really good str, and the best AP, for only 120 points is really worth it.
Just something to keep in mind if anyone knows that they are going to have to fight one.
thx that helped me blow up 3 baneblades
