Welcome to Librarium Online!
I'm currently building my Daemonhunters force and I'd love to do some objective markers. One of (well my only) idea was books of Chaos lore and I'd love to have some big books to stick on bases and use. A few google searches haven't turned anything up (apart from lots of books about modeling) so I'd love some links to model books or ideas on how to sculpt one.
My other idea was to have a daemonhost to be captured then studied (and then purged with righteous flame)
Any other thoughts on things to use as objective markers?

Well I was going to use the Inquisition symbol or CRUX TERMINATUS or ADEPTUS MECHANICUS SYMBOL as a objective marker, simply because they look cool (perhaps a little big) and it represents my army fairly well.
I might write like a ork but i fight like a poet.
Some one tell me they have ever seen a nightbringer die from a Nemesis Force Weapon.
I used the old Mordheim sprue I had lying around and used it to make a skull-adorned altar supporting a tome with a sword laid across it, all on a tiled based with a single lamp shining light onto it. I'm not the best painter, but at least it looks adequate.
ninjabackhand: point and click, again, really? even after i give you an military term "shock tactic" you still call it point and click.

Books are comperatively easy: take a piece of 5mm cardboard, cut a square out of this.
Then take thinner cardboard, say, 2 mm and cut 2 rectangles out of these, slightly bigger than the 5mm quare. Then glue the 2 rectangles on the thicker square. (so that the 2mm rectangles overlap the square.)
Voila! A Book!
If you wanna go bigger, get some greenstuff to make a curved book spine and some thin cardboard to make the =I= sign to go on the front.
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.

thanks for all the input/ideas so far, I think a few books will be in order and I should have the DH/inquisition brass etching sheet on its way to me for doing the =I= on the front (my knife skills are notoriously poor).
Also, poking round the GW store found:
which looks promising, even if it is meant for WH

You could easily grind off the fleur de lys and green stuff on a big I Or even put a big I on the back side and a crux terminatus or whatever symbol fits your fancy on the front of where the fleur de lys will be removed. I'm actually going to order a couple of shrines for objective markers and I'll make 2 for my sisters and 2 for demonhunters.
Making tomes from scratch is a pain. I prefer to pilfer ready-made books and scrolls from other models (Dark Angels have lots of bitz that look good on Daemonhunters).
I've got 3 objectives I regularly use, one of which is a tome. Check out www.aetherium.org/otc-tokens.html for pics.
