Now although I bought the new SM codex fairly quickly after it came out, I was mainly reading it for fluff value until Army Builder provided the update and I could start putting a list together.
I already knew that I would have to re-think my army list a bit as I could no longer take a Captain in Termie armour with a termie command squad (Boo!)
But then it dawns on me. I can no longer take a Captain / Master + Librarian + Chaplain in the same force org under normal conditions.
Can someone tell me I'm missing something here as this doesn't seem very fluffy to me.
"Okay men we#re heading down to Galiron prime in two hours. Terminator squad, ready?"
" Tactical Squads?"
"As always Captain"
"Well I'm not going if he's going! He always takes up far too much space in the Thunderhawk!"
"Ooh you b!!ch! You can talk with your rosius swinging around all over the place!"
"Okay one of you stay back and we'll take a dreadnought instead."
Just seems wrong to me.
lol... they don't care about if it makes sense or not, they just wanted to take away alot of our close combat abilities with our HQ, and rather make us focus on special characters and other things...

Like Thyhadras said, it's more about balance than anything else, that's the whole point of the FoC. If that didn't exist, we'de have Tau players with 30 broadsides or IG players with 80 Russes. Techniqually, they should all be able to be played, but it would just be completely overpowering
i see where their coming from though because it is essentially 3 HQ choices (mind you the daemon lists can have 4 HQ choices, but they dont cost 100 points minimum)
i just wish they hadn't taken out the terminator command squads cant think for the life of me why they did that
Never judge someone until you've walked a mile in their shoes...by that time they'll be a mile away, and have no shoes
I think it would have been a good idea to have allowed a slightly less powerful option to be taken as an Elite if you wanted to, similar Inquisitors.
There used to be 2 ranks of librarian and Chaplain so it's not anti fluff and would allow people to still use all the minis that they've been collecting.
I just want a jump pack command squad... I dont think that it is to much to ask... and the fact that they took away lightning claws away from my happy little chaplain makes me ill... now i actually have to try and find a Crozius

As for the Terminator Command Squad, with the increased Land Raider capacity and ability for one Terminator Squad to take a Land Raider as a dedicated transport, you can have your Terminator armored HQ accompanied by a Terminator Squad mounted in a Land Raider while only taking up one HQ choice and one elites choice for the whole thing. I do not remember the details of the Terminator Command Squad off the top of my head, but the above option seems to fill the role for the most part.
"Don't Delay-The best is the enemy of the good. By this I mean that a good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan next week. War is a very simple thing, and the determining characteristics are self-confidence, speed, and audacity. None of these things can ever be perfect, but they can be good."
-General George S. Patton, Jr.
Blood Angels are still a viable army. Still very competitive, even in light of the new SM codex with the BA do not get to enjoy.
Once a Marine, always a Marine.
