i do not like hvy weapon platoons what should i use in there place thats not a vehicle?
i dont like them because i have so many squads who are already loaded.
doctrines stormies engineseers light infantry camoline spec weps
and i cant drop any of them... stormies win the game for me pritty much specail weps keep them at bay and ive brought a demo tank back for almost a wreck with tecky and 2 servitors ive got vox spec wep and sniper + camo in all squads.
do i need heavy weps? every one tells me i do. but i win all the time and i know im playing by the codex ive played for ever...
What do you call a lasgun with a lazer scope?
a twin linked lasgun.... HA haha haha
Well if you're winning all the time, what's the problem? Really, you don't need Weapon Platforms. Infact, the only thing you need is an HQ and two troop choices. Especially if you're winning, there's no need to change based on what others say. But, if you must, you could always just use those storm troopers for your tank busting, Meltaguns and such.
And the other thing is that you should really refrain from netspeak. It's in the rules.

If it's light infantry you are playing, take some sentinels. Just proxy them with a friend and see how they perform, take them for something you are lacking in. Maybe everyone you play with has the same basic strategy? Test some sentinels, you might find that you can chop those unbelievers up even faster =)
when it comes down to it, heavy weapon squads are either anti tank or anti horde or anti MEQ/terminator
So as long as you have an answer for these types of units you dont really need them.
here are some other options you have to make up for not having heavy weapons
Anti tank- deepstrike 5 vets with 3 meltagun (probably not the best choice with your doctrines)
Anti tank-last chancers with meltaguns (rewrite their fluff if you dont like it)
Anti horde- deep strike heavy flamer sentinel (amazing, amazing, amazing unit)
Anti horde-leman russ... basilisk... hell hound... you just cant go wrong
Anti meq- Rough Riders (fits your light infantry fluff)
Anti meq- demolisher (you have a demolisher and your opponents say you dont have a heavy weapon?)
these are just a few choices, the guard codex is so flexible that if you really dont like a certain unit their are ALWAYS more choices, dont forget about options from the inquisition.
