A combination of several different advisors
none, they cost too much for 1 guy
Hey every one, i was just wondering what type (if any) of advisors you use, how you use them, and how many you use. personaly i use 4 sanctioned psykers because almost no one else uses them and i find their powers to come in handy from time to time.... not to mention they adds a bit of spice to my army. cheers
I own two commissars and three sanctioned psyker miniatures... only to paint the miniatures. They're not worth the points I feel. They're terrific minis, and I hope next spring they'll see the battlefield.
I hope that Psykers just serve as Psychic wards/defendes/dampners - I don't care for them to have offensive powers, just let me nullify enemy psychic actions by taking wounds on my own sanctioned pskyers, killing them if need be. Better than dropping almost 100 pts for an Inquisitor Lord with a Psychic Hood and perhaps some additional gear.

Commissars mostly, sometimes Psykers cus I love the models
So far I've only used Commisars but based on some of the discussions in a few of the other threads I might try testing out some of the other options as far as advisors go

For my IG army i want some commissars, more for fluff than anything ele, commissars being very expensive for what they do.
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.

The Dutch Legion
I hope you're right r.e. the psykers, i hope you're right.
I have exactly the same feeling, and my undead guard project is missing 2x F/W rogue psykers only as i keep on being outbid on ebay. (And i really want to play against a witch hunter army so i can use the adversary psyker, as they're absolutely spiffingly fun and hard to boot. (You "pop" into a demon occasionally, and the psychic powers are hilarious)
I occasionally go commisars, but only on games of 2,000 points +, where i'm going for masses of infantry. 1x with sword and bolt pistol, then we have power fists / the occasional sword as i like the model so much. They are useful, but not worth the points. (Beautiful models though.)

None, at the moment at least.
I'd only use them for fluff and I can't really justify the cost.
I'd really love to see them get some love (among other things...) in the new 'dex.
WEll i generally would think of taking whatever suits my army. Commissars if i need leadership. Phykers for some backup (with their wacky powers). Prists if i'm using a cc orientated army. If anything i really want to put prists in a squad of ogryns but thats not going to happen. So basically i would take commissar generally as any guard army without doctrines suffers when it comes to leadership.
Not worth it, a commissar with a powerfist cost almost as much as 10 guardmen. Their abilities and stats do not match their cost. A terminator is the same cost as one of these guys, enough said.
Priests! Rabid, angry, frothing at the mouth techpriests who've dropped their servo arms, and weild eviscerators instead!
Fluffwise, and game wise, these dudes suit my army.

Also, you should google "garfield minus garfield". Awesome.
