Hello everyone! I recently got a razorback, my first one, so this is a newe experience for me. I would appreciate tips on how to play it and what to load it out with, thanks!
Don't glue the turret together, that way you can swap out weapons as need be or simply use it as a Rhino. I made that mistake with ==My== Predator and now I'm stuck with a triple lascannon failure
For Razors I like the Heavy Bolters. They're cheap and provide plenty of firepower.
As ==Me== said... don't glue the turret on. For better results and multiple weapon loads try to magnetize weapons...
I too prefer the Heavy Bolter config especially against massed troops! If I want, though, to hit hard on vehicles and mechanized armies I go with the Lascannons! Yes as you have understood I have magnetized the weapons!
Thanks to all the people showing faith in me
I sometimes feel that everyone will leave me and they will be on their own...
Depends on the kits the rest of the army has. Pure and simple explanation, Razorbacks are a nice bonus Heavy weapon to fill in any gaps you need, but generally there are only a few configs worth it.
-The HB is the cheapest, but personally I haven't been impressed by the preformance of a single HB in the current "everything gets cover" edition, but if you need anti-horde, it's a decent stop-gap.
-The twin heavy flamers is just expensive and requires you get way to close to your intended target, at most two shots in a game and against marines, probably very little damage.
-The twin Assault cannons I don't feel is worth it mostly because of the high cost, short range, and reduction in the effectiveness of rending, you could almost get two HB razorbacks for the points giving you 6 shots and notably better range.
-The twin lascannon is a decent config, but I almost feel it's a moot point when the TwinPlasma/Lascannon costs the same points and can put out a good bit more firepower
-The TwinPlasma/Lascannon gives you the firepower of an entire tac squad sans bolters for less than half the points, solid firepower, but also expensive point wise.
All in all I like Razorbacks, but I agree with ==Me==, you don't wanna glue the top hatch or coupalas because this gives you the flexibility to make them rhinos if you need it.
Blais's Paint Studio-Getting broken armies good soft scores since 2009
hevey bolters are good and cheep, if only are using one i would not use lascannons as it becomes a bit of a target and the amour is still weakish i personally use 3, 2 with heavey bolters and one with twin las and it works really well
blood angels 5000 pts
imperial guard 500 pts
orks 1000 pts
As for army loadouts, I think I'm fairly balanced which is why I'm not entirely sure what to put on it.
(Full Las Pred, Autocannon/Heavy/Storm Bolter Pred, Thunderfire Cannon, Land Raider Redeemer, Tac Squads: 2 have Flamer/Missile Launcher, 1 has a meltagun, 1 with a Plasma Gun, Vindicator, Vanilla Dread, Assault Cannnon Dread, Vanilla 5-Man Terminator squad)
That's why they're bad, it's too expensive for lascannons (which aren't even that good against tanks nowadays) and I can field 2 dakka Preds for the same cost (or a boat load of MM Speeders). I only field the damn thing against bugs now and even then I'd rather have something else.
But I can guarantee you that the next Codex will make triple lascannon Predators "t3h w1n" so I'll just bide ==My== time on this.
Yeah, probably. Although I did get that pred in 4th edition when I was just getting into 40k, it was my first tank and all my army had for tank-busting was a dread, a power-fisted 5-man assault squad, and a missile launcher.
If the prices stay the same (apparently theres a new Razorback boxcoming out) Would you buy a Razorback or a Rhino. The consenus ive gathered from this thread is that rhinos are mostly better than Razorbacks but would you still want to pay the extra money just incase.
