Okay, so I keep reading people post on how x are no good because with 5th you need troops so bad. Now I agree in 2o3 missions you need at least 1 troop to win an objective and you already have to take 2. Now one only needs 1 objective uncontested and all the others contested to win, so I don't think super heavy on troops is always the best option.
If I was going up against a horde army, I think some dominions mounted in immolators with 4x flamers would rock their world. Give the vet a brazier or combi and you can lay down 6 templates from one unit and it's transport. This is probably enough to demolish an entire 20 man unit of orks with ease.
If people were targeting said non-troop unit, it's less fire power at your scoring units.
Another thing I see people doing is really tooling their canones up, while she might be super-killy model. She is still only T3 and a single model unless you hide her in a unit or give her a retinue. Buying her more on the cheap allows for more options elsewhere. I have seen the same problem with daemons(my other army) and their greater daemons, many times you can get multiple heralds to do more of what you want for cheaper.
Everyone already loves the seraphim and jump troops are awesome, though they are more fragile than transported troops. They have their uses.
Book of St. Lucius is not the best thing since sliced bread. Though it is cheap, sometimes it's better to be running and able to shoot than stuck in a combat you are already destined to lose.
Penitent Engines are not fragile, though they are easier to kill than many other armor. They are still A11 and fast as all getup, if only they were fleet and/or could get smoke launchers(even if it was one model per squad) They are still expensive to field a lot of them, especially requiring a priest unless the priest could count as your main HQ and they contend with what is one of our best units the Exorcist.
Just thought I would toss out some thoughts that are generally against the grain.
ok i dont have the codex infront of me but im pretty sure the book of st. lucius says you MAY use the unmodified leadership, this means that you can use either leadership to stay and fight or the leadership to try to break and run.
Suffer not the heretic. That's right, I'm looking at you Astartes Librarians.
