I was wondering what the color scheme for the Aegis armor is. I was looking around on another site and it list this as a possible other armor for them. They listed it as black with silver gauntlets and such with gold colors for the markings and items on them.
Is that the right colors?
Traditionally they're mithril silver with blue ink all over, with eagles and such being bronze/gold, and badges and books and such being red and white. However the codex also has them decked out in scarlet for an alternative, so you could paint them however you wish.
so this aegis armor was bs
Yup, from what I understand Grey Knight armor is Aegis armor, so painting them however they are traditionally is the way to go.
In the chapter's original conception, I believe the Grey Knights were black in the same manner you just described them (But neither color gray), which may be why that website described them as such.
Also, I don't recall seeing any Grey Knights painted scarlet as an alternative. One of the Inquisitors was painted as such, and he was in power armor.
Either way, paint them how you want them.
I've seen images of red GKs that looked absolutely stunning. Ditto for, if you can believe it, purple and light blue. As SA noted, the original GKs were a very dark charcoal grey that was often painted as pure black.
The models are so handsome that it's virtually impossible to screw them up. Paint them however you want! Everyone will recognize them as GKs, no matter what color they are.
ninjabackhand: point and click, again, really? even after i give you an military term "shock tactic" you still call it point and click.

well I think I will go with the traditional grey look for my GKPAs and the black and Silver approach for my GKTs. My tanks though will probably be base red and black with some silver and gold stuff around it.
Thanks for the help all

Blais's Paint Studio-Getting broken armies good soft scores since 2009
If you want to be a little lazy with painting (like me) I would suggest experimenting with Chainmail as your main color. It's lighter than Boltgun Metal and I personally think Mythril Silver is too light. Chainmails a nice in-between. I have a few GK, and that's the route I took.
i do trim of glowing glue to represent the power of the aegis and shrouding.
I might write like a ork but i fight like a poet.
Some one tell me they have ever seen a nightbringer die from a Nemesis Force Weapon.
