I've been playing marines for almost 3 years with a DIY chapter that has never been given a name. I recently found a name I like, but It almost seems too ... silly. The name I'm considering is 'The Emperor's Pudding Makers'.What do you think? I am also open to recommendations. If your going to give me suggestions for name you should consider the following: my primary colors are midnight blue (purplish and darker than chaos black) and scorpion green (very bright), I like to use a lot of heavy weapons especially plasma, and I frequently use inquisition allies.
I like the scorpions, or Emperor's Scorpions.
With Pudding Makers you would at least never run the risk of meeting someone with the same or similar name. That, and maybe people would underestimate an army with such an unassuming name.
The only thing I would recomend avoiding is the names where you match a color with a thing. Yellow Tigers, Blue Hawks, Red Lampshades, etc. Half the GW chapters are already named like that.
Well, "Emperor's Pudding Makers" is indeed - let's say - special...
But it can definitely be done. Especially if you're a good player and people laugh at your army until you teach them better. I for my part, however, would rough up the name to something like "Steel Pudding Legion". Either way, if you go with this theme, you definitely need the Halflings' Soup Catapult from WHFB and the IG 2nd Armored Field Kitcheners as your allies!
PS: I didn't vote because I really can't decide.
"Fear not and look up to the sky for salvation, for we have entered orbit."
Blood Angels 2nd Grail Guard Company
Sexual Innuendo. Anyway try to make the sound as 'ard as possible.
Like the Steel Daemonic Pudding with nails in it Legion.
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day,Give a man religion and he'll starve to death praying for a fish
I like scorpion kings', I mean will you really run into someone with the same name and paint scheme?? I have been playing my marines for about 10 years, and still havent come up with a great name for them yet.
My scheme is a black base, with a fiery orange plates. Which is a pita to paint now since gw got rid of that paint color, and now i gotta substitute.
I named my Chapter the Purple Cobras and they will....*hiss* rock you
