i've seen the ogre sabretusks from whfb, and know i want those in my armie, just because they look cool, with my seargents of any class. but i don't know if it fits with the fluff. i play white scars, not that it matters to me, but because their fortes is high in the mountains, i thought those sabretusks would be a nice pet for the sergeants.
so please let me know if it fits in the fluff, but i'll do it anyway
I'm not familiar with the White Scars, but those cats would make cool fenrisian wolves for the Space Wolves.
Yes, they do.
They rely on their battle-brothers for support, both in and out of battle. People seem to forget that humans are in fact animals too.
Or am I taking the thread title too literally?
SM are more machine that human realy.
A space marine is still a space marine without his armour, you know? it's not the power armour that grants S4 and T4 after all, or the sororitas and inquisitors would have them too (and SM scouts wouldn't have them).
There are some examples of chapters/characters that rely on animals/creatures. SW use fenrisian wolves, the DA heroes have familiar-like creatures and I'm pretty sure there are examples of others in fluff.
You could use the creature-feature provided by GW to give rules (points cost and stats) to your sabretusks and use them in game (with your opponent's permission of course).
