Hello everyone I have a quick and simple question. Why is it when anyone try to field these days they use a vanguard veterans with lc's. I would believe the a command squad on bikes with lc's and storm shields would be very effective and move almost as fast. Couldn't you just model the squad like very heavly armored jump troops (to represent that they can fleet).
Make a man a fire and keep him warm for a night.
Light a man on fire and you will keep him warm for the rest of his life.
i know its not shrikes wing but its one hell of an alternitive 10 th/ss termys with infiltrate and fleet anyone? Wait a minute now ive mentioned that and thought about it everyone keeps saying that shrike gives his units infiltrate but does he cos infiltrate is lost when a charect joins and unit so does he i dont have a codex to hand and if he does does he also give them scout sorry for all the questions i guess i should read before i comment
Your right, its not Shrikes Wing by any stretch of the imagination, but it is a great unit for attracting every ounce of firepower from the enemy.
Shrike's details are on page 92 of the dex. 'See, but remain unseen' is granted to his squad =)
Erm, no scout move though... possibly because he isn't a scout =)

Slightly diferent approach would be to use terminators as shrikes wing.
Infiltrating terminators, with fleet making them potentially as fast as basic assault marines. So just heavily armoured assault marine veterans.
I do this with thunder hammer storm shield terminators for the occasional first turn charge and more often to scare the painter out of the opponent.
For some reason people don't like 10 infiltrating thunder hammer and storm shield terminators appearing on there doorstep. I just don't know why.
Yeh okay its a bit cheesy, but hey it keeps them on there toes!
Of course in your case they would be lightning claw termies but hey i like a good bit of wolverine sauce anyday of the week.
Slight tactical note as well, detach shrike and charge him in first. Hit the closest model and all his buddies will surround shrike before the terminators charge potentialling getting them an extra 2 or even 3 inches closer to the enemy.
