I have been putting together a DK list . I made up a 1000pts list exactly like my normal IG list and noticed that the DK officers and infantry squads are much more expensive base wise then they would be in my IG list. Resulting in quite a substantial short fall of points (about 250!).
The infantry squads for DK cant even have heavy weapons and start at 20 points more.
Is the increased cost just due to the doctrines or am i missing something?
Also im only using imperial armour 5 siege of vraks part1 do i need 6 for a DK army to be fully effective? am i missing anything not having it?
Im not sure, but I guess that is because the cost of the doctrines and special FOC options are included on the price and I think that book 6 comes with a diferent army list.

Death Korps are a forgeworld army and are really meant to recreate the battles in the Siege of Vraks. The added point value is refected in the doctrines that they take and the fact that squads can not take heavy weapons are I belive to show that the infantry squads are meant to be trench fighters crossing no-mans land. Where DK lacks dakka they make up in template goodness. Also know tha DK can be used with the IG dex as they are in the book in the back somewhere.
