I have read all over the internet and am getting conflicting reports. So I was wondering if you could answer this question for this guy I always play against:
- Can you take a Landraider as a transport for GK troops you take as allies for IG?
Thanks in advance for any answers.
Yes, if the land raider you take is dedicated and not a heavy support land raider.
What units can take landraiders as dedicated transports?

Inquisitor or Inquisitor Lord
I understand the Inquisitor thing since its listed under the whole retinue paragraph.
BUT the paragraph my friend keeps pointing to is the one above the "transport" section where it states something to the effect of "Any unit can take one of the transports listed below as an upgrade". What's the deal with that paragraph? I don't have it in front of me.
That paragraph doesn't state anything like that at all. All it says is what upgrades they can have. and that they can only transport the unit they are bought for.
Actually, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Grey Knights/GKT's cannot take Landraiders as upgrades. Only the units which specifically say so on their desriptions (i.e. stormtroopers and inquisitors & lords + retinue) can take transport vehicles. GK/GKT's can ride on GKLR's from the Heavy Support, but if they are allies to IG's, then they can't since IG's cannot take DH heavies.
The "Transport" page in the Codex is there to give DH players a reference for their transport vehicles without forcing them to buy the IG/ SM codexes. Units are only eligible to take transport vehicles from this list if it says so in their Codex entry.
