I'm a 'nid player, and I wonder if my opponent (a tank heavy imperial guard player) was using the hellhound the right way.
What's the range on it? I though it was a template weapon, but he shot at a bunch of gaunts like 36'' away, like an ordenance weapon with no scatter, rolling to hit with the tanks ballistic skill. Does the hellhound do that? I thought you place the flamer template near the tank, with the narrow end touching, but I'm new, and I could be wrong. I never said a word about it during the game...

Yep, the hellhound does that.
It's got a 24" range, however, and I can't say anymore about the rules without breaking some sort of copyright.
Needless to say its pretty sick.
its the best, if your a nid player i suggest you stay away from it. since GW took that stupid glancing becomes penetrating thing on it And upgraded the armor AND added the rule for the inferno cannon, its just an uber support tank.
