Hey was just wondering if anybody uses a model for their Cannoness other than the GW one. Something about the GW one just bothers me and I'm looking for an alternate choice. I'd just like to see what people have done with theirs.
I went to a hobby shop other than a GW (since we have no GW in about 800 miles) and found some reaper miniatures of female crusaders that looked great. Some small conversion work and I came back later to pick up other models for more additions.
I agree with you, there's just something about the normal model that irks me. Whatever it is, it's enough to demote the model to a sage for my inquisitor in my DH army xD
If it's a jump canoness, I suggest Celestine. With a few adjustments she makes a wonderful cannoness. I just took off the bird arm, and used a little glue/greenstuff to put the regular cannoness' evicerator/inferno pistol in place and then slapped a seraphim pack on her. I was tempted to put the flaming bit from the other pack on it as well, but I didn't.
If it's a foot slogging cannoness, I can't really suggest anything because I'm looking myself. Though I think I'm going to try and make one from a Bretonnian Grail Knight Champion. It has a very femine figure and the Fluer de Lis is quite frequent on it. I don't think it'll be to bad.
Vicioushellsing, could you perhaps post a picture of the miniature you used? I'm definitely interested in something other than Celestine for cost reasons.
I don't have a camera to show you the finished version but I can show you the model I started with.
Reaper Miniatures :: Miniatures Sora Goldflame. I then replaced her shield arm with a bolt pistol. I also grabbed another model but I do not see it on their website, it was an angel with a sword. She required a lot of extra conversion work though because her model was mostly naked.
I have a succubus from them as my deamon prince for my slaanesh army as well.
I have used the Forsaken Saint Mary as one of my Veteran Superiors, still haven't got around to changing her nailgun out for a bolt pistol, but I will get there in the end. She is about the same size as a regular sister. You may be able to use her as a Cannoness.

There are also a large number of models that you can see at CMON, that may give you some more ideas.
Most definitely. I got one of their female bounty hunter models as my inquisitor for my sisters.
Forsaken St. Mary is a bit too large though, compared to GW scale - she is more in line with GK Termies and such.... Reaper is a good source though!
And over there we have the labyrinth guards.
One always lies, one always tells the truth, and one stabs people who ask tricky questions.
Looks great Cbrate. I also like your custom hair styles.
I've been trying to find the exact legality of using other models in a tournament. I found some Reaper models I think I could make into great canonesses but I want to make sure they'll be usable. The fact that they are much cheaper than an actual canoness too makes me feel warm on the inside.
