I am an IG player with inducted SOB and I want to report an astounding victory over tyranids thanks largely to the efforts of nine very determined Seraphim. These girls are like like ninjas with flamethrowers. They went up against a winged hive tyrant and two carnifexes piling on the wounds, jumping in and out of close combat, and generally kicking xeno MC ass. By turn three 600 points of monstrous creatures had been killed (14 wounds with 2+ armor save) and, while they only got to score one of the killing blows, the lion's share of the credit is due the Seraphim. Then they then went on to take out 8 genestealers and 15+ gaunts.
That was one of the most impressive performances I have ever seen from a single unit. My guardsmen may have a shaky faith in the emperor but they damn sure have faith in the Adeptus Sororitas.
awesome job ladies! and rep for that incredible paint job on those girls!
(WH40K) Dark Eldar - (12,000pts) Sisters of Battle - (5000pts) Dark Angels -(3500pts) (WHFB) Dark Elves - (10,000pts) Beastmen - (5000pts) Empire - (3000pts) Wood Elves - (1500pts)
Seraphim very frequently do surprising and awesome things to an opponent... However, very occasionally, you'll roll bad and watch them all drop.
Still, jumping 3+ save faithful sisters is an awesome sight. It's always fun to watch them annihilate something the opponent needed. The built in Simulacrum Imperialis makes it more likely you're gonna get the faith you need when you need it.
What'd you make the hoods from, btw? Green stuff?
I'm trying to catalog every song with a reference to yetis or Sasquatch. Please help.
Great performance. My best was when my sisters jumped in and killed a squad of burna boyz, not exquisitely impressive, but very ironic.
Good job with painting them as well.
@ crazy: Yep it's greenstuff. I took a dremel to their hair and then built it back up in two steps so that the folds of the hoods would be nice and thin. I was suprized at how simple it was to do actually.
I was just astounded at the punishment they dished out. I am sure that was more the exception than the rule but man... quite nice for a guy that usually has to bring 45 guys to put down a five man tac squad.
That's awesome, the few times i've ran seraphim with my guard i haven't been disappointed.
Awesome conversion on the hoods, might have to steal the idea if you don't mind. THink it'll fit perfect with my tanith.
Most Notable Achievements:
Killed a Revenant Titan in one shot.
Killed 900 pts worth of Blood Angels in 2 turns while only loosing 4 pts.
Huzzah for Seraphim - back in my force after a few games absence. Led by an evis cannoness a 5-girl squad chewed through two defilers and finished off two CSM squads in only 4 turns (thanks to one of the defilers charging them on turn 3).
Given that this was a 750 point game and my opponent's force only consisted of the above and a prince I was pretty pleased with the work rate.
Seraphim are without a doubt the deadliest unit in the WH codex. I have 24 of them, which I have on occasion all fielded at once, and they hardly ever fail to really hurt the enemy. They are a unit which has high firepower, high mobility, high defence, good morale and decent assault ability. As a result, apart from lack of numbers due to their high cost, they have no major weaknesses. One you get the hang of using them they can pull off the most outrageous stunts for units of their points cost.
I had a came somewhat close to this epicness if not more. I was playing aganist daemons of the foul powers of chaos. and my jumpack cannoness with eviserator plus seraphim with eviserator killed 30 plague bearers and a daemon prince charging right into the heart of the enemy shielded by faith and I mean the heart of the enemy the purpose of them charging in there was to serve as a distraction for the enemy but apparently the God emperor protected them!
This is somewhat off topic but I just have to mention it I had 2 sqds of battle sisters fire into a tzeentch lord with daemon weapon with meltas and stuff and they did nothing and it was a desperate moment cause if i didn't kill this lord he would surely destroy me. I then decided to charge my 5 man sqd of sisters of battle with VSS with evisertator( 5 cause he killed 5 prior) in there. I failed my Spirt act but I passed my hand of emperor. The Chaos lord roled for his daemon weapon and roled a 3 giving him 6 attacks. Hitting with 5 and wounding with 3 killing 3. Which is the exact number I needed cause I forgot to put my VSS in base contact with lord. She hit him twice wounded him twice and failed his invul and died. Thats Divine intervention right there : )

I love the awesome job you did and agree that seraphim are a great unit.
