Really, just interested in what people give their tactical squads and why. Personally I give each one a plasma gun or meltagun and a heavy bolter or plasma cannon.

I would assume you are likely to get responses from all over the board. It would help, if you included what you plan on using the tacticals for. Or better yet, who is your main opponent army?
As Ultramarines, playing against Orks, and IG. I use a flamer/ML in one, and a flamer/Plasma Cannon in the other. Primarily combat squading the P.Fist/flamer and PC tactical to keep the plasma cannon firing every turn.
From your typical, I would take a guess that you are fighting against other power (marines, chaos, etc.)
I've currently got enough heavy weapons to fill out 3 tactical squads and 4 devvie squads, so you can imagine I can change almost every heavy weapon in my 'typical' list to suite the situation. Most of the time I either take Las or ML's though.
Special weapons however are different for me, as I either take flamers or melta guns. This suites my play just nice, as tactical squads are almost always dropped into position on turn 1, and a well-placed melta-gun on side armour makes a joke of most enemy vehicles while flamers tear through massed enemy - which is typical of how IG or Orks deploy.
As Xpyre said, it would help if we knew what you're typical target is and how you plan to deploy your army, as load-out changes according to enemy and situation - you wouldnt take a las-cannon against an army without vehicles now would you?
Flamers to toast hordes and a Multimelter to burn a hole into that tank.

Flamers, as I have so many and missile launchers because I like the flexibility. I like having a chance against everything even if the squad excels at nothing, thats kinda what tactical squads should be to me
I have quite an attachment to my flamer marines. IN more games than I can remember, especially against eldar all but the sergeant and flamer get wiped out, all hope seems lost, just as they reach enemy ines and with a quick squirt of flame and a charge they redeem themselves!
Marines are all about flexibility, If you're army lacks something be it anti-tank or anti-infantry, kit your tactical squads up so they fill in that gap.
For Example, If you've got a devestator squad with 4 lascannons putting another lascannon in a tactical squad is a bit over board so i'd kit them out to kill troopers, so flamer and heavy bolter, That way your army is covering everything.
I go with Missile Launcher and Flamer. Every Sergeant in my army has a Power Sword too. Of course it can be tailored to specific armies - against Imperial Guard I'd take a Meltagun.
The free Missile Launcher is too good to pass up, it's always been my favourite Heavy Weapon.
In my 1500 points army I use 3 tactical squads made of 10 models each.
The first one is embarked on a Rhino, its main role is anti-infantry and to take (and hold) objectives.
I equipped it with a Flamer and a Missile Launcher.
The other two squads are usually splitted in two combat squads, and have a Razorback with TL Heavy Bolter.
I equipped it with Lascannon (for the combat squad which stays back) and Meltagun (for the squad which advances with the Razorback).
Meltagun, Plasma Cannon, Combi-flamer, powerfist.
If you dont know against list you go take flamer and misile launcher.
Flamer - pop up on the rigt place from transport and burn lot of troops.
Misile launcher - good against everything
Other weapons are more specialised against specific targets but rest of your tactical do nothing agains them. Generaly tacticals are best on rapid fire range against 5+ armor targets or close assault, agains armor close sombat too. You can give them plasma/plasma cannon but sterguard or devastators do it better. Melta/multimelta can pop up tank but rest of your units do nothing against target and bike squad with 2-3 meltas do it better and cheaper.
Combiweapons on sergeant- retardly expansive.
Melta bombs - cheap but put elsewhere, 10 krak grenades are enough or use another unit, meltas are for fast attack
Power sword on sergeant - interesting choice, lots of attacks on charge
Power fist on sergeant - sergeant cost more than terminator but it is worse
