Hey everyone, a lil while back I was hearing that some special characters in the new codex could give furious charge to some units via orders or something like that. I saw somewhere that Creed could give an order called " For Cadia" which can give a unit furious charge for a turn or something. As of late however I cant seem to find any confirmations of this. Has anyone heard anything new on this. I just can't seem to like the idea that in the new codex that not even one single guard unit can be buffed up to fight even somewhat effectively. With Int. 3 looking to be the majority int. in the new book iIguard is gonna be even worse in cc than last codex without things like close order drill or even that expensive hardened fighters doctrine. What do you guys think?
From The Dude's summary on warseer about Creed:
"Can issue 4 per turn, including unique Order "For the Honour of Cadia!" giving 1 unit Fearless and Furious Charge."
I don't know if the Guard will be worse in the new Codex at assault, as with Creed's order and a priest you would have a whole unit of S4 guys that re-roll misses, and if you merge squads it would give you a lot of attacks (think 50 guardsmen with furious charge and re-rolls, lol)
Hope this helps.
Creed has "For Cadia!" which makes a unit fearless and grants Furious Charge. And I seem to recall Mogul Kamir(sp?) the rough rider character giving his unit Furious Charge and Rage.
Beyond those options and priests buffing select units, you've got Penal Legion troopers who get a boost in close combat 2 outta 3 times, you have (heavily-overcosted) Ogryns, and newly buffed Rough Riders (laspistol and CC weapon, 2 assault weapons, plus lances) for close combat options. Your basic line squads won't be much close combat punch like the old style Warrior Weapons doctrine, but that thing was garbage anyway. The new codex has a few options, but none of them are amazing, as close combat isn't really the Guard's thing.

Another SC has an Order that gives Furious Charge + Counter Attack. Very nice for giving to your gunline before they get assaulted
I also heard that Infantry Squad Sgts can take Power Weapons lol
