Am still desperately trying to paint up my sisters whenever i'm not slaving away at work, but will be coming around to my canoness soon. I was wondering if at the low point cost games i will be starting with:
1) Having a naked canoness, so she can run forward, die, and provide some tasty faith, 45 points for essentially 4 faith points sounds fair to me.. Does this make any sense? Anyone tried this before?
2) Would I have to model her with no weapons or anything then?
3) If so, any suggestions ?
The problem with that is #1 during KP missions you are down one automatically. #2 if you give your cannoness a little gear she can be nasty on her own and really earn her points back. #3 if you need faith points that bad it's because you didn't take many SoB units to begin with and therefore can't use much faith either, so why kenny 45 points to get 4 faith you may or may not use. I would be interested to know if anybody uses or has used this strategy and how it worked for them.
I wouldn't think putting naked Heroines in as sacrificial lambs would be the sort of strategy you could build a list around. People will suss that one out right-quick and just ignore them; I mean, what harm can a S3 T3 model with no weapons possibly do? Throwing Faithful characters to the dogs in order to recoup a few Faith Points is something most people do as a last resort, i.e if you're trying to knock a squad off an objective with shooting or if another unit really, REALLY needs their 3+ to be invulnerable, but it really is a last-resort only kind of thing.
You'd be better served tooling your Canoness up to do something useful and taking the Martyrdom if it happens.
Yea, you can spend 45 points for a useless model that might be ignored or you can spend 125 and have an amazing jump cannoness that can cause some serious damage. In either case, it's still 2 FP when she dies so you might as well put her into the jaws of oblivion and kick it's ass. =D
I have to agree with the doesnt seem worth it..if you want to suicide someone..get the saint =)
I try to make sure she dies EARLY on...though I do only use her in apoc games.
In apoc i always have like 12-14 faith points...
So I WANT her to die quickly before I get down to 6..the most she can lose you..
If she dies when you have 14 faith points there is no way she can cost you further marty points...plus when she dies she then becomes a deep strike threat every turn
thats at least my reasoning,
