I am looking for something a bit different for my canoness, what do people reckon to the redeemer model from necromunda (the one on the left).
Does it look too masculine for a sisters army?? Awesome model though would love to use it.. plus the little guy would make a nice priest i reckon.
While yes, he does look a bit masculine (and with good reason), and while I'd rather use the model for a priest... but... there's no reason he can't count as a Canonness... I'm sure the Soriatas wouldn't object to being led by a faithful bishop, for example.
(Myself, I'm musing about using an Inquisitor for the Canonness role, given how they're not -that- useful in their Inquisition role. Scratch off the I's, add some fleur de lis and there we go.)
Fluff wise it wouldn't make sense for a male bishop to lead in battle since their whole purpose is that men can not bear arms within the Ecclesiarchy.
Personally I also do not like the Cannoness model (I posted a similar thread a week or two ago). I was looking at lots of options at the hobby shop this weekend. There was actually a wood elf model I was thinking of going conversion crazy on. What I ended up settling on for price and time reasons was buying a Sister Superior with a Jump Pack. I then bought a little bird for small change at an AC Moore craft store which I cut the wings off to give her angel wings. I'm looking to do some other work just to make her look a little more regal but the Canoness really does have the same armor as any other SoB, just has really large robes.
It does seem to be pretty common felt that the cannoness model is a dropped ball on GW's part, kind of a shame.
I'll try to get a pic of my wip up. Another easy option I was considering was the mistress from a repentia squad but I hate the fireball on her head.
