Since my last post, I've got myself 30 Sisters of Battle, a Rhino, 5 Seraphim and a Celestine model for my Canoness. I'm not done, obviously, but that seems a solid base for an army.
I also have an Exorcist... well I say Exorcist. I looked at various pictures of the GW model, and decided that I really, really don't like it. It looks like it's going to fall over backwards. I want my Sisters to be fairly utilitarian, and the GW Exorcist does NOT fit the bill.
So, I looked at the Forgeworld model... and I didn't like that either! It's just... boring! It doesn't instill any fear, any worry. It's just a Rhine with two tubes on top. So I bought... a Whirlwind Hyperios!
My problem is this: Will people accept that the Hyperios is an Exorcist? I mean, it fulfills all the criteria. The Exorcist is a Rhine variant that has missile launchers attached to the back. The Whirlwind is a Rhino variant that has missile launchers attached to the back. The Hyperios will be using all the Exorcist rules, of course.
Provided I deck it out in Sisters of Battle symbols, do you think people will allow me to use it?
The Whirlwind Hyperios is what I recommend if you don't like the big metal organ.
I have one Exorcist of that type, and was thinking of getting another hyperios launcher until I found a metal organ Exorcist for real cheap.
I've not had trouble with people telling me it's not an exorcist. I think it looks better and more realistic than the organ gun.
I mount it on the back of an immolator, and put the Immolator seat on it without the guns.
There are a couple of the rhino/immolator decorations you've got to file down to make it fit better, but it looks great.

Ah that's good then!
I'll try it on an Immolator, thanks!
I have 2 whirlwinds I dressed up with brass etchings from Forgeworld....
painted some Flurs on them and no one has questioned them yet....

It's a big tank with missile batteries on the back; I wouldn't think any reasonable person would find cause to complain about it.
I've been playing Orks til this point, I'm all out of enjoyment for daft looking vehicles haha.
Hopefully people won't find issue with it, but I just wanted to check!
Locally here many of my friends play a lot of Privateer Press games in addition to Games Workshop. Budgets are stretched to their limits, so you hear a lot of friendly banter about the 'Counts As' rule in 40K when people don't have a specific model. I haven't read the rules yet, but I know none of my friends, (or myself for that matter) would give you any grief at all about using the Whirlwind as an Exorcist. Go for it and have a blast! May it bring you many victories
Well, I use the exorcist as a base, but instead of using the massive organ tubes in the back, I bought bits for a whirlwind launcher and put them in the forward most turret hole. Then where the top hatch doors would be on a rhino, there is that other hole, where I put that servitor holding one of the missiles. It looks as if he's feeding them into the back of the launcher and looks really swank. I still love the detail on the metal plaques that hang on the side of the exorcist.
