Hey, this is just a bit of curiosity... I'm converting a bunch of the Terminators from the AoBR box set into grey knight terminators and with this I'm curious if I can keep the powerfists sculptures on them as nemesis force weapons (maybe paint them differently) or if i have to take them off and replace them with the traditional bladed weapons. I can do either, but am trying to be lazy here... thanks for the help!
Although not technically against WYSIWYG -- because the actual form of a NFW is not set in stone -- I think using powerfists to represent NFWs would be pretty confusing. It would work only if you didn't have powerfists anywhere else in the army. if you're playing pure DH, that wouldn't be a problem, but otherwise...
The powerfist is a very iconic, specific weapon. I would try very hard to convert the AoBR termies if you intend to use them as GKTs.
ninjabackhand: point and click, again, really? even after i give you an military term "shock tactic" you still call it point and click.

Not much to add, but I second what number6 said.
Maybe see if you can add a giant blade (think like katars, or punching daggers) to the fists. They would be more like Lightning Claws than Power Fists, but with a single one and with a different enough look, it could pass as a NFW.
Ok, I see the reasoning behind not letting a usual power fist be a Nemesis Force Weapon... fortunately I've been working to convert them to carry pole arms(just have to pick up some SM scout arms with the knives for the blades)... I just wanted to be lazy with the last one and not have to cut it off especially as he's wielding a converted Psycannon (build in progress, maybe i'll upload the squad after I finish it as my first modeling project) and such. I also am curious, is there any point to give these guys a chainfist in the squad to bust open a LR should I ever meet one or is that more of a waste?

Every one of my Grey Knights has an Imperial Guard Powerfist for a right hand.. I use them to represent Nemesis Force Weapons. They look great. You can find the Powerfist on the Catachan Junior Officer, here:
If you can get your hands on a bunch, it's really a very striking look. I may be able to post pictures of my models, if you are interested. Good luck!

Suppose the only real answer is to not be lazy. Either buy the GKT or do something special. As ive just been reading Bleach lately the idea stuck me to do something like what the Quincy bloke has, a bow attached to the hand. Just need some plasti card for the 'bow' then paint em up for cool, individual designs.
First link is his third bow which is more like a crossbow. Adds variation though
Second link is his first bow made of 'spiritual energy', glowing bow but you get the idea.
Third is his second black bow and you can see the design on it to make it stand out.
Just an idea.
I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand

Thanks for the ideas, generally i've been taking the bolter arms from the old starter set (i think second edition, had Space Marines vs. Dark Eldar) and cutting the bolter out to put some tubing in, they seem to look decent i think... i'll post some pictures perhaps, if i can find out how to do that :-\. For the Psycannon, i took the storm bolter, bulked it up with GS and then put a barrel on the front of it, unfortunately he's not holding it as per usual bu i think it looks ok...
Here's some of those pictures of the Imperial Guard Powerfists as Nemesis Force Weapons. They are still in the process of painting, I apologize for my unfinished work. Also, they have Alpha Legion shoulder pads, if anyone is wondering.. we're kind of a secret Daemonhunter force, if you know what I mean . By request:
Enjoy! Any questions or anything, please feel free to ask.
