I haven't heard anyone talking about techpriests in the new 'dex. Were they made more viable?
they fixed their repair ability; so now they just have to finish their move in base contact, and repair either immobilize or weapon destroyed on a 5+ (each servitor with a servo-arm adds +1 to that roll).
'course squadrons still autodestruct vehicles that are immobilized, and if you play a spread out force, going to be tough running him to where he's needed. but he can hide easily behind your important tanks and just walk from one to the other as a backup repair chance.
Funny I was wondering about the Techpriests too. So they have 1 wound and no access to a transport? If so, they are kinda hard to use. If he has dropped in price a bit I might try and find a place for one and let him borrow the company commanders Chimera...
