Sorry, i'm new to IG, and never having played against or as them (but starting as)
i have a question
if i have a command platoon with say 3 heavy bolters and 3 lascannons
i assume that if i move the platoon, then the support/antitank squads must move as well?
no because in the codex it states that the "Support" squadrons are seperate units
what he said.
Also in the new codex heavy weapons are part of your infantry platoon and not your command squad.
We who have seen war will never stop seeing it....In the silence of the night, we will always hear the screams....
yeah, just got the new 5th ed codex
sicne its a separate entry, i can use 3 lascannons as a single troop squad (though i probably wont)?
Each of the squads count as a separate unit in the battle. The only time they're lumped together with the other infantry squads in the platoon is on the force organization chart and when you're deploying/rolling for reserves. My wife hates the Dawn of War deployment type, because I get to deploy well over half of my army while she can only deploy a few squads.
So, for all intents and purposes, once they're on the playing surface, the squads are fully independent.
