So i've recently purchased more SM pieces to add to my collection, and built a new army out of em'. For once I decided to go with a cusotm chapter. I've already painted them to match the name (I can post pics if you'd like) but I was wondering what you guys thought of the name?
Scheme: yellow, with black tiger stripes
Leader: Proxus armed with a relic blade, and storm bolter (the old 3rd ed. captain model)
I was thinking imperial fist successor as they are yellow, but still unsure.
thoughts? (not only on the name but successor as well now that I think about it)
Thanks in advance
Mixed feelings about this one.
Saberfangs does really scream "Angels of Death" to me, though it does suite the color scheme you've ran off and done already
I think the name would suite a very CC-orientated army, so I'm not so sure about the Fists successor background - as they are more seige from the fluff, but heck, anything can be crafted from fluff =)
Would love to see the paintwork though!
I think it's a fine name. It doesn't have a religious or medieval ring to it, but there are plenty of Chapters like the Fire Hawks and Space Wolves that have animal names or themes. The important thing is for you to play them with pride and make their name feared locally where you live by your courage and cunning in battle! What is the shoulder pad marking like? A set of fangs? Show us the pics!
May the Emperor bless your brave brother Marines!
Clearly nobody told the Black Templars that IF successors couldn't be melee.
If you call it a Missile launcher, then it'll never hit anything.
100% of people who aren't Karmoon know Saraneth is invincible.
It's not my best work, that can be seen in the showcase section btw, I stripped some of my DA an redid them for this army (hooray for having 6000 points of DA!) You'll see the "Claw of Erynn" the LR, Assault captain Dakkar, banner bearer Vidian, vet sgt. Mathia, Terminator sgt. Derck, chapter master Praxxus (I spelled it wrong in the original thread but what do expect with a name like that?) Terminator librarian Magness, and Chaplain Tarros.
I figured they'd need some tribal like names with a name like Sabre Fangs. I put the picture of the other 3 models in just so you could see I kept the Stripe theme going through the entirety of the army.
could only attach 5 so the LR pics are missing =(
Any "custom" chapter, is a good idea.
Mine is also a "custom", and I left its successor as "unknown". I left the chapter as having a mysterious background, for the time being, as I am unsure how it will go.
Love the banners, and the way you built your models. I also noticed quite a few "older" models too.
Shame the pictures are a bit dark, as I cannot make out their faces.
I'd say go for it, and "He** Be Da**ed!"
I'm thinking Raven Guard sucessors. Dakkar looks ALOT like shrike! That's why in the two games I played with em yesterday I used him as shrike. I've learned that shrike with 10 assault marines infiltrating (18" away from the enemy) is nasty. I never liked shrike till now.
Praxxus took down a dread in his first game, yay melta bombs!
I'm revamping all my dark angels 3rd company to join this chapter. It was a REALLY fun game(s) for once. Like the terminator captain who popped out of a forest staring down the lascannon of razorback. and the 7 scouts who sniped the ork warboss to death.
I dont want to scrap my pre-heresy world eaters but this army has become so much!
Not your best work???
Those Banners are AMAZING!!!!
I would pay for banners like that, my freehands crappy
For get your Mr T, John Mayer leaks pure awesomeness with every note he plays.
I agree with CM, I would love banners like that.
My freehand is crappy as well, but I have RA so I got an excuse. Hehe.
Nice to hear you are enjoying your "custom" chapter. It just goes to show you, originality always wins out.
