I've got a quite fast setup vanilla army called the Snow Panthers (hence the speed and bikes): Commander on bike attached to a bike squad, 2x tactical squads w/razor transport each, landspeeder typhoon, attack bikes with multimeltas, dred with multimelta, scouts.
Now, for a 1500 point game I've got about 200-250 points to spend on something else.
I'm thinking about either adding shooty terminators with assault cannon (I dont own a cylcone launcher), or I can add the following: Another landspeeder, attack bike plus 5 sternguard with powerfist.
I also have a whirlwind, devastators, assault squad in my collection, or another tac squad to chose from if you guys think they are a better idea.
Here is what I am thinking:
Terminators: Will draw a lot of fire, provide fire support for my troops, survivability, better at close combat.
Landspeeder/A-Bike/Stern: Faster, flexible, more units to shoot at/with, fragile.
I like the idea of the terminators as they will provide a heavy backbone of fire support to a fast army balancing it out. They also will either draw fire away from the more fragile stuff, or while the opponent is concentrating on the fast stuff the terminators can do their thing.
But - I also like the idea of going all-out fast attack with two speeders, more attack bikes and some sternguard fire support. Or I could give the dred upgraded weapons to provide fire support and add something else like a third tactical squad, or a small assault squad.
Suggestions/ideas to help me decide what to do with my last 200-250 points?
i personally love terminators even though they can be game winners and game losers all on their own. if you want to add a very rigid spine to the army you've currently got you could do a lot worse than terms. only real way you could fit them into the theme of your army is to deepstrike them since you're lacking a land raider but with shooty terms thats no bad thing.
overall though i think the theme of the army is better suited with either a full 10 man assault squad or an extra landspeeder and sternguard mounted in a drop pod
Yes yes terminators!!
Hrm I quite like the idea of the assault squad instead, though I might be tempted to take a chaplain with jump pack and 5 assault marines instead of 10 assault marines just because the chaplain model is so damn cool (plus I dont own 10 assault marines). Probably not quite as effective as 10 assault marines though!
However when I think about it I still go back to the idea of terminators as a spine for the army and to balance out all the fast attack.
Anyone else got any thoughts?
Oooh quick edit: What can I used to make sure my terminators can deepstrike where I want them? With all my fast attack there should be something I can give one or more of the squads im already taking to home them in on? I just can't remember and don't have my codex to hand till I get back from work!

A locator beacon in a drop pod, would work in many ways for you. As both Terminators and any other of your deep striking units would be able to DS down with no scatter. Assault squad, Land speeders could both be kept in reserve and DS in.
Don't know if this will help you at all, but a Scout Bikers squad of 2x bikers + Scout Biker Sergeant (70pts) with a Locator Beacon (25pts) will also allow your Termies to come down right where you want them (within 6" = no scatter), with scout bikers allowed to move 24", turbo-boosting like standard bikes, you can get your termies right where you want em.

For a long time my marines took a 5 man termie squad with Chaplain and Crusader, however, since the new codex came out I've scrapped the whole unit and gone for Assault marines for the reason that storm bolters aren't shooty enough, and also I lost the crusader *tears*.
I'm also getting the feeling you really want to take the terminators. You might find that as your fast attack moves up and poses an immediate threat that your opponent overlooks the terminators long enough for them to close in and reap some havoc, otherwise, they might prove to be 250 points of diversion.
The other issue I have is what are your stern-guard going to be doing? It doesn't look like they have a transport so are they actually going to see any action or are they going to be left behind?
sorry for longish post.
If you call it a Missile launcher, then it'll never hit anything.
