In tournaments Can you use Different models from either the DA, Blood angels, Space wolves, Black templars, Daemonhunters or withhunters codex into your army but still using the orgnisation slots.
Using the rules, from the WH or DH codexes, you can use any model to represent an ally.
For example, you want Space Marines allies, for your DHs. You can use any chapter, to represent the SM allies.
Now there are some limitations, such as the example above. If you take SM allies, for your DH force, there cannot be any GKs in your DH force. However, GKs can be taken as allies, in a SM force.
I believe that goes for SoB too. If you have SoB, in your WH force, you cannot take SM as allies. Though, you can take SoB as allies, in a SM force.
Hopefully I helped, without confusing you.
If you are adding WH or DH to your main space marine force, you may add it to any variant chapter/codex.
If you are adding space marines to your main WH or DH force, you may only use Codex: Space Marines, (and you may not use grey knights if DH or battle sisters if WH)
I just realized while writing this message that there is a way around this restriction. If you were to use a WH main list and not use Battle Sisters, you may add allied contingents of both Grey Knights and Space Marines. Similarly, you may use a DH main list and add contingents of both Space Marines and Battle Sisters
is this allowed for normal GW games
yes it is.. as long as you follow the rules for doing this.. they'r described in both the WH and DH codex.. there's many units that for instance require you to field an Inquisitor before you're allowed to take them (assassins and such)..
Also at Takeda.. you could also just use the space marine list.. As there's nothing that forbids you in say adding a couple of Grey Knights as support to a SM army.. You just can't take both GK and SM from the DH list.. it's a bit complicated, but described pretty well at the inquisition boards..
According to the rulebooks, you can. The only way you would not be allowed is if it was specifically disallowed by the tournament, and I can't imagine why a tournament would pick on inquisition/marine lists
As lastdinosaur said, the easiest and least restrictive way to do it would be to use marines as the main army, and then add sisters, grey knights, and/or inquisitor and assassin. I personally have a space wolves army (anywhere up to 2000 points) and some battle sisters (up to 5 or 600 points)
If you really want to use an inquisition list as your main army and still use both marines and grey knights or sisters, it is still possible if you carefully build the list around the restrictions
very useful thread since i acquired a big mixed army from a friend of mine consisting of a grat amount of SW , SM , 2rhino, 1 vindicator, 1 predator , 1 sarcofagus mentor (i didn't find the rules for that last one),
i have also a Torquemada model plus henchmen, 20 cadian infantry troopers
i think he used the cadian as allies for the DH but the army is to weak since the models are only few.
my question is: can i mix SW and SM together? otherwise i'm thinking of reselling something to focus on SM primarily and some inquisition models
1. if you use a space wolf as your main list, you use whatever the codex says you can. certain selections have you refer to the space marine codex, and that's it
2. if you use a space marine list, you definitely cannot use anything from space wolves
3. if you use an inquisition list, you may only use as allies from the main space marine codex, but not space wolf or other variant codex
basically, you cannot "mix" the space marine and space wolf codex at will. the only time elements of both are used is in the first case, where you still use the selection from the sw codex, but refer to sm codex for the stats and cost (which at this point are almost ass vehicles and alot of the wargear and weapons)
