Do you field Bikes or attack bikes? or even a squadron of land speeders?
Seeing as 3 attack bikes is 120p and you get 3 mobile heavy bolters aswell with 3 twin linked bolter shots if you get into range.. vs 4 bikes for 115p, thats both less wounds and firepower.
I am leaning towards the attack bikes, but even then... maybe 3 land speeders is a better choise for even greater mobility with decent firepower
trying to keep down the point cost but gain the most fire power..
Go with the attack bikes, unless you have a captain on bike, where you want normal bikes
Landspeeders are fun, but you have to be careful if they aren't going to get shot in the first turn
For get your Mr T, John Mayer leaks pure awesomeness with every note he plays.
Are you going for anti-troop or anti-tank?
I prefer biker squads, as attack biker squads get shot at first. Though I'll add an attack bike from time to time.
A squadron of landspeeders, with MMs, are good at popping vehicles/tanks/etc. A squadron of landspeeders, with two HBs, are good at anti-troop/horde forces.
It really comes down to, what roles are you looking to fill.
I dont think i will be fielding a HQ biker sadly.. atleast not yet..
And i suspect i want them to go infantry hunting so maybe attack bikes will do the job better.
I'l soon have 2 land speeders (dont know what weaponry) an attack bike and 6 regular bikes.. i guess i can try them all in different combination to see what fits the best
Thanks for your thoughts!
It very much depends on the rest of your army.
If you have minimal armour, Attack Bikes would be preferred as to minimize the effects of heavy weapons on your army... It goes back to the idea that if you have many tanks, your opponent's small arms are useless for part of the game, but if you have only infantry, his lass-canons are killing one model each turn at the most...
I also find it easier to hide bikes behind terrain and I do not like the "wound" allocation rule in the Speeder squadrons combined with the immobilized=killed rule on a Armor10 model... A way to get around that is to buy each Speeder separately, if you have the Fast Attack slots open...
If you wanted to go for the missile-boat Speeder though, you should be able to keep it safe with its superior range, if you can spend a turn or two in hiding when lead starts flying your way...
I'll have to say bike squads by preference. But I usually take 1 Biker squad with an attack bike and one landspeeder squadron as well so I've got all three. Landspeeders are more expensive but they have heavy weapons and are a little more durable, I like the assault cannon and missile launcher varieties. Bikers IME only usually get one crack at what they're there to do and if they fail they get shot down. Usually with me I attach a couple of meltaguns to the squad and go and destroy a big vehicle to pay for their points. Attack Bikes tbh I don't understand why people take them in squadrons on their own, I always take them with bike squads if I take them at all.
Always take attack bikes if you can they are great with an effective 36" melta range. With Speeders just balance the cost you can really go crazy with tricking them out and realize you do not have points for other things.

I use Landspeeder Typhoons as my first choice, with Typhon ML and a HB. They always perform for me. They can Anti-tank or blow up Hordes!
I also use Attack Bikes with MM.
one thing i've fielded in the past was a squadron of 3 landspeeders with two heavy bolters. its a wall of fire for not a lot of points, 50% more firepower than devs can mount for cheaper and they are mobile.
its especially nice for wiping out things like genestealers and eldar aspect warriors. there are enough shots that you can wipe out a sizeable force of medium infantry and even against tougher opponents it still will kill a few.
also good for hunting monstrous creatures- enough strength that wounding isn't too hard and enough shots to play the odds and make it lose a few. i used them on nurgle daemons one time and they were worth their points even there.
