Is the legion of the damned worthit and what army is the legion of the damned good n. I think they're good agaist Tau. Deepstrike full 3 10 men squads on their front lines DEAD
In my opinion, Legion of the Damned squads are viable, it's just that space marine players have much better options. Sternguard veterans and LotD Squads fill the same role pretty much, but Sternguard are just so much better.
A naked ten-man Sternguard Squad + Drop Pod comes to 285 points. A naked ten-man LotD squad is 305 points. Add in the fact that any Sternguard Veteran can get a special weapon (preferably a Combi-Weapon of some sort), the LotD is left in the dust.
And just about anything deepstriking onto the front lines of a Tau gunline will make them die.
LotD are good against armies that have lots of low-AP weapons, such as a plasma-heavy chaos army, as they have a 3++ save. The problem comes when against normal weapons fire (like lasguns/etc), where those expensive marines die just as easy as normal marines.
They can be effective, and can cause some serious problems, but as was said before, there are better units out there...
what if we talk about MONEY concerns. I've got a spare 20 space marines troops left in my box and i'm not going to spend another 55$$ for a sternguard squad. What I could do is just paint them black with flames. Easy. 2 full elite LotD squads for FREE
ps. Are they good against Tau?

Ok then is there any way you can covert those NORMAL space marines into STERNGUARD VETS. Give me tips!!
You can just paint them a different color, maybe paint some simple designs on them, and then call them Sternguards. People usually won't complain about it just as long as they can tell it isn't normal marines.

what army are they good agaist then
There's really no answer to such a broad question.
LotD squads are as flexible as a Tactical squad; they're meant to be able to succeed at all roles on the battlefield.
They are good at fulfilling specific roles but as has been said before there are better units out there for it. I do like them tbh and they are mainly good against low-AP weapons that could pop a Sternguard unit without too much difficulty.
@warmaster4: You could just use your spare Marines as Tactical Squads. If you must have LotD then only use 10 Space Marines as 20 Legion of the Damned IS a little much.
