Well...I'm definitely thinking about playing a Guard army.
Now, here's the problem. I have three different forces I want to try!
The first would be an all infantry, with as few doctrines as possible army dubbed "The Meatshields." Possibly used in conjuction with my Daemonhunters. Idea here would be large and very numerous horders of Guardsmen just flung at the enemy.
The second I want to do is a S.W.A.T. army. The doctrine(s) I'd use would probably be (I don't have the codex, so forgive me) Grenadiers. The idea would be that my entire army would consist of Stormtroopers, Rough-Riders, and maybe the odd tank. This woulld be almost entirely converted, mostly out of Cadians.
My third idea (The one that's just nagging) is to do a Gaunt's Ghosts army. I'd convert the troops out of Catachans, and it would be characterful, but that's where it ends.
Can someone help this poor soul?
If a tree falls in the forest, and it lands on a mime, does anyone care?
depends on your style, i like tanks so i have six, thats my army. other people like men so they have 130+ men in their army. just do what feels right to you.
(personally i would choose the first one)
Out of the three do a gaunt's ghost. So far I have yet to see anyone really do it. I tried but I changed my mind and did Last Chancers. An all infantry army is a bit of a pain to build and paint, and the SWAT thing has been done.

If you want to do a swat army go arbites, they have some REALLY cool rules and gear, gotta love lining up those suppression shields. I dont know where you could find their codex other than on the internet somewhere.
