Don't get me wrong. I really really like the new IG codex, but there is something I just don't get. I looked at the company command squad and saw the camo cloaks and then spotted that the commisar lord can have a camo cloak as well. Cool I thought, people can make a tanith regiment. Then I saw that the only other units that can take cloaks are the vets. what about the troops and snipers? I don't understand why they would offer this option but then only go half way.
Well the entire Tanith Regiment are veterans so it makes sense why they have it then. And as for your question, I not sure why but maybe they didn't want to have a whole guard army with the stealth special rule. That would be interesting especially with a horde guard army.
Aye I was slight peeved that the normal troops couldn't take cloaks, mainly because I have 3 platoons built with cloaks, tanith style. But fluff wise it makes sense, the tanith are all veterans. I just wish that at least the platoon command squad could take cloaks

Come to think of it, where is Gaunt himself? We have all the other special characters and Gaunt was in the last 'dex. Did GW think he was redundant with the Commissar Lord?
