The new codex is GRREEAAATTTT! frosties-tiger2.gif
But has anyone else noticed that it may not have been as well checked before being edited as previous dex's as mine had a couple of miss-spelt words and repeats, anyone else found this.
Just curious Thanks
this happens in every codex because GW DO NOT proof read anything
but they still charge out the arse goodwork GW
Here is a story I was told by somebody with publishing experience.
"At a normal publishing company there may be as many as seven full time proof readers on a project. The first person catches 90% of the errors. The second person catches 3% of the original errors. The remaining proof readers barely bother to read the project because if the first two did their job there shouldn't be any errors. The last five still get paid."
And thats how proof readers scam us all out of quality product. That and GW uses illiterate monkeys as proof readers.

Look at the credits on the book... there are no proof-readers or editors credited (as they are in most books.) This could lead one to the assumption that GW does not in fact use illiterate monkeys as proofreaders... as that would be something... as opposed to nothing. Oh GW, you're like college students struggling to get an essay out on time the night before. The essence is usually there, and you can get what's going on... but... you know
Now back to finishing my essay that's due in 4.5 hours
But apart from GW being the ever-most-evil-company in the world charging us so hard we have to sell familymembers in order to buy their stuff (and I guess they shoot us if we don't)...apart from that, how is the codex?
It seems to me that some Codices, such as the new SM codex and Chaos Daemons are very nice little books. Nice fluff and pretty pictures, how about these aspects? Is it a good one or is it not?
Oh, and my rant was a joke if someone didn't get it
I haven't finished reading the fluff sections, but so far it just doesn't really deliver. A couple of the characters have cool backstories, but most don't. Granted, I've seen most of it before, so re-reading Creed cum Calgar stuff over again isn't that interesting.
The Valhallan stuff contradicts the Cain series pretty badly and just goes back to being WWII Russians. The Ghosts paragraph ignores the last six books.
The color section is totally lame. It is just pics from the new prodctus section of White Dwarf. Nothing at all inspiring. It is dominated by Generic Cadian colors and Catachans. No more Camo examples for units like the Warhawks, Firedrakes, etc.
The best part of the book is the armylist. Even though it has a few issues with arbitrary rules and limits ...and that it already needs a FAQ... at least there are a variety of competitive lists available.
RecklessFable's Journey to Mediocrity (Painting an IG army)
I've been addicted to World of Tanks lately and neglecting my IG... But it is so... much... fun!
I was hoping for a bit more art as well.
The character pictures are pretty cool but I am really not impressed with the cover art.
It's worth a krak!
