Well. Looking through the new Codex it seems that there is no artwork and no model pictures of Kasrkin. Given that last Codex they looked set to become the new standard Stormtrooper models (and effectively did) this is somewhat surprising.
However, this is not all. The artwork (only two bits though) of stormtroopers in the new Codex involves the "old style" Stormtroopers, with the googly eye gasmasks and tubes on the side of the hotshot-las.
Right, bearing this in mind I am now officially reading far too much into this, but is the old style of stormtrooper going to make a comeback? New models (far in the future due to the utter lack of rumour surrounding it, third wave at best) perhaps. Possibly, and I hope so.

they still sell the metal storm trooper sets with the googly eyed gas masks (which are pretty cool imo), but it would be awesome to see a plastic kit produced, including bits to customize the squad.
It almost certainly means that Kasrkin are no longer loved by GW for some reason, if they where to remain as the standard models, they'd certainly be included in the codex.
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.

Agree with zemaphore the artwork usually shows upcoming releases ie landspeeder storm in the SM codex. Seems strange though as GW lovestheir Cadians as much as their ultramarines but i guess itsfor the Kasrkin.
I get the idea that Kasrkin weren't included because they're strictly Cadian. The new codex really brought the other regiments back into the spotlight so bringing back the old generic stromtroopers would make sense. Comparing to the 4th codex which was almost completely Cadian besides a couple little pictures shoved in the back (rightly so since Cadians were brand new models).
Who knows maybe they'll include parts for both. Then everyone would be happy.
Well if you have also seen the new IG formations for APOC, you will see that there is a Stormtrooper and Valk formation, using all old stormtrooper models from the look of things. Perhaps you are on to something here.
I plan on using Kasrkin as Vets in carapace armor, since they are grenadiers after all...
This does mean that I hope GW does not cancel the Kasrkin soon.

Imperial Guard: W6/L4/D0
It would be cool if the new models include different patterns. Thinka bout it.
I would imagine GW are aiming to make stormies non-specific to any particular regiment. Reading the codex stormies are trained by the Schola Progenium (the same folks who train commies). So, technically, even though they still come under the DM, you could say stormies aren't really IG they are loaned out to IG formations.
In general I'm not a fan of the bulky space suit/wierdass gas mask appearance. I've always felt the Kasrkins looked...more respectable, I guess is the right term. While I can see a reasoning for the more generalized appearance, these guys are supposed to be special forces, not pillsbury doughboys.
