How the hell could captain lysander with terminator armour go with a comand squad with power armour??
It doesnt make sense?? Why would the codex producers put that in the codex. Its just going to waste lysanders capabilities of teleporting and the bolter rule thingy??
i understand what you are trying to say. Lysander's abilities are just weird and however you use him he is wasting a potential. I think they should have given him anything but that bolter drill or given his command squad the ability to wear terminator armor. quite honestly i don't believe i will ever use him because of his odd, i don't quite fit here, way of being.
"All of the tainted shall fall before me".
Who would be stupid enough to not put Lysander in a termie squad!!!!
Lysander works very nicely with a Command Squad, they don't need to be in
Terminator Armour to make the most of Bolter Drill.
And do you seriously think GW would say in the codex "You can take a Command Squad with any Captain, except Lysander, because we don't think anyone would want to".
I like Command Squads. Giving Lysander FNP is just icing on the already quite iced up cakes.
Lysander's abilities may seem in direct opposition, but that's only because he doesn't have a ranged weapon, himself. Bolter Drill and Stubborn are tailor-made for Sternguard. A Sternguard unit that is entirely twin-linked will probably draw a lot of fire from the enemy. Rightfully so, as that degree of power has immense potential.
By making that unit Stubborn, Lysander keeps that unit firing longer. His very presence in the unit acts as a deterrent as well. Very little is going to want to charge a unit that has Lysander in it unless it has overwhelming power. Applying that much power takes time and requires a lot of maneuvering on your opponent's part, just to take down one unit.
Sure, he doesn't have the army-wide tactical effect of a character like Pedro or Vulkan (and Vulkan is a bit over the top anyway), but then again, he doesn't have to. He leads by example, not through great tactical acumen, and these characters were designed with the backstory in mind.
Also, Lysander's not dead, you're probably thinking of Elvis Presley.

What I wanna know is why did they get rid of terminator command squads?
If you call it a Missile launcher, then it'll never hit anything.
100% of people who aren't Karmoon know Saraneth is invincible.
I totally agree with Quick. Put Lysander in a Sternguard squad and watch your opponent at sixes and sevens. Does he stand and have a shooting match with re-rolling Sternguard, or does he assault and take a closer look at the Fist of Dorn?
And just because you take Lysander's Command squad, it doesn't mean they have to travel with him.
wow lysander in a sternie squad is really effective.. I just noticed that??? seriously I did..
