Not only do I not see anyone mentioning using him in their army, but I've mostly heard negative comments about him. Why is this? I think he brings a lot to the table...24" command radius, 4 orders/turn, etc etc. I think he's a pretty awesome character choice.
I thing I don't like about him is that he lost the ability to re-roll for initiative.
Admittedly, 4 orders per turn aint so great when you remember that for his cost, you can always just get another command squad (with a host of special weapons thrown in too!!)
And I suppose the same goes for his order radius too - with two command squads, you get twice the radius! Or more than that, I guess, as they can be split up.
But he does allow a single unit to infiltrate, which is awesome, and besides - the "for cadia" order could be fantastic when combined with amoeba infantry or conscripts!
But wow. Two command squads. Now I'm in two minds myself...
"Pickles, the drummer, doodily doo. (Ding-dong, doodily, doodily, doo.)"
Also, you should google "garfield minus garfield". Awesome.
Any basic command squad is a priority target for the enemy. They are slightly more powerful than regular guard and they boost the efectiveness of other guard via orders and the regimental standard. They are also not that difficult to kill especially with indirect fire such as whirlwinds. Adding plenty of weapons and other goodies makes them even more of a tempting target so I generally just stick with a mortar. Adding defensive upgrades such as carapace or a medic also increases the cost substantially.
If you add Creed you make the squad even more of a target. The enemy would be stupid to leave him alone and allow 4 orders per turn for the whole game. The temptation is therefore to add advisors, bodyguards, medics and carapace to keep them alive but then the cost is prohibitive. They are still killable by most opponents in one or 2 rounds of shooting.
Quantity has a quality all of its own. If you make anthing stand out in a guard army it just gets targeted first. The trick is to smooth out the effectiveness of your army overall to make nothing into a priority target.
Quorn! - Protein for the Protein God.
Creed has some interesting abilities, but he's just so freakin' expensive. I can field another CCS instead.

Creed is not that bad, give them camo cloaks and Incomming! and they are as good as terminators entrenched in their holes, give them a medic and this will be amazing, only 8.33% to suffer a wound from non-ap-piercing weapons and 16.66 against the rest; Pretty nifty if you ask me
In addition he takes up only 1 HQ slot, for all who play inquisition he can be a steal, I am contemplating to try him out and send my landraider with the inquisitor lord to outflank. (it may be useless, but hey it is a land raider outflanking someone, pure amazement!
Scout land raider crusaider is a good possibility of a first turn charge too!
Creed... possibilities are endless!
2nd Command squad w/ 4 meltaguns = cost of Creed

I play a full on 9 valk air cav army with 2 4-melta command squads and 6 melta vet squads, all the valks sporting multiple rocket pods ... so I don't consider it a waste.
If you're a gunline guard army, yes, it's a waste, but that's not the point.
You could just as easily point out that 4 melta command squad + chimera = 5 points more than command squad + creed w/ NO upgrades.
Any time you can give melta to a bs4 mechanized unit that can order itself and a nearby squad to twin-link itself vs. vehicles or monstrous creatures, you're not wasting things at all. Like ... at all.

lawl. haha, but yes i play eldar, and i'm surfing your forums to see what you guys are cooking, but yes, ursarks squad would die just as easily to blade storm as any other squad would. and they cost twice as much.
