tau is simple for me drop pod assault works well as well as anti infantry landspeeders. tau suck at assault. they are kinda like ig in that area. as for chaos thats tough. it really depends what the other player is fielding. typically and more shooty based army fairs better. its no fun assaulting squads of chaos marines. vidicator and a dev squad is probably a good combo against chaos. hope i helped a little plenty of people will respond with better ideas lol

Bikes. By the truckload. They'll be able to get to the Tau and wipe them out before they can fire more than twice, and then you'll be able to swing round to the Chaos scum without losing any maneuverability.

From the other side of the fence
You need to get into CC with tau and take out the hammerheads before they launch sub munitions. For chaos, fight at long range, plasma cannons, whirlwinds etc. Chaos will kill you in CC so avoid it if possible or charge them if you have too, if they charge you its over before it began.

the new landspeeder storms loaded interrupt tau gun lines nicely. Chaos is chaos, i go for balance and plasma weapons. Also the bikes suggestion is a good one

At the very least give your captain a power weapon, otherwise it's like having a dev squad armed with bolters!

Drop one of your TacSquads (one with a lascannon), and use those points to buy a couple of upgrades (e.g. lightning claw, combimelta) for your captain, Extra Armour for the Rhino, a Whirlwind and some powerfists in those remaining TacSquads.

I'd also probably not take the drop pod as it's not so useful in a 3way FFA, and will likely result in one of your squads getting massacred.

With whatever points you have left another MM on the 'Speeder wouldn't go amiss, or a Razorback/2nd Rhino.
